Role

SEMIKRON is contributing to several tasks in WP2. In this work package technology selection and system design of an MES (manufacturing execution system) will be performed. For this purpose a detailed analysis and evaluation of state-of the-art industry specific MES technologies including tracking and shop floor control systems will be performed. A research of available and extendable technology platforms is conducted. In the corresponding use case SEMIKRON will develop and implement a traceability system in chip production. This shall be based on inkless chip marking technology.

Key contribution

Energy efficiency, mobility and urbanization are the 21st century challenges that SEMIKRON addresses with its power electronics solutions. Performance and service are the main driver for our innovations in power electronics packaging from semiconductor, module to system level solutions. The experience and know-how in production flexibility at our site in Nuremberg is an excellent resource for the project SEMI40. With its long history of innovation inside and outside of funded projects the company brings strong expertise to the research on smart production in SEMI40.
